5 Easy Ways to Make Your Sales Emails More Effective

Emails don’t have to be a shot in the dark. With these tips you’ll not only get your emails read, but they could lead to some business, too. Sending emails is an integral part of selling in today’s world. But at a time when your prospects are receiving hundreds of emails every single day, it is easy for yours to get lost in the crowd.

What’s even more frustrating is, because this technique is relatively new in the realm of sales prospecting, up until now there has been very little data to show which prospecting email techniques actually work. Here are five tips based on this data that will help you send emails that lead to closed sales:

0. Maximize Deliver-ability

I start with zero because the five ways to make your Sales Emails more effective is ABSOLUTLEY worthless if you prospect is not receiving your email to start with. Clean That List will maximize your deliverability. Without a Clean list you are setting yourself up for failure. You Gmail Account will be suspended for Spam. Your Auto responder account will be locked for violation of terms.

Oh, with your auto responder, some companies love bounced email. Why? Because, they charge you per volume. Get response charges as much as $800 a month, actually $799, but who is counting? That is for their maximum size email list. The smallest list is 15.00 a month, but that is only 1000 prospects. More than that, you pay more. Mail Chimp limits your prospect list and the number of emails your allowed to send per month. They allow 2000 Prospects in their cheapest plan, but they limit the number of emails you are allowed to send to 12,000. That sounds like a lot but that is only 6 emails a month if you have a list of 2000.

Whenever a company says, Flexible Payment Plan, Run.

Trafficwave is very inflexible. 1 Prospect or 200,000 prospects. 1 email per month or 10,000 emails or 500,000 emails or 1,000,000 emails per month - cost $17.95. When your list is small $17.95. When your list is huge, $17.95. Send a few emails per month $17.95, Send a TON of Emails every day $17.95. Everything in between $17.95 Very Inflexible. I like inflexible. Flexible means, Do more Pay more. Not at TrafficWave.

Now 5 Ways to improve your Sales Emails.

1. Humanize the language.

You're dealing with real people. I like to think of a specific person and write my email to them. It helps me think of my "LIST" as the real people they are. You don't just want them to feel human, you want to create the perception that there’s a human being sending the email. That the reader can engage you and build relationships with you. That if they respond they will hear from you. For example instead of "Thank you."; you may want to say, "I really appreciate you…"

2. Be Deliberate.

State the purpose of your email right in the beginning. For example, as SFI promoters say, "I am succeeding online at last. Join my Team and I will help you"

You might be thinking, "So what? My reader already knows that."

But what if they don’t? Never assume a level of knowledge for your prospect. If you’re restating your proposition in your fifth email, then the above may not really add value to the reader, your relationship, or their commitment to take action. But determine what your purpose for each email is, then make it clear from the start.

3. Prioritize based on your prospect’s objectives.

Know your audience. What is it that your reader wants to know? What do they care about? What do they expect from you? Prospects are more emotionally impacted by the benefits they receive than from your product or service and its features. For example, if you are Promoting a TripleClicks mobile phone saying "We make connecting with your loved ones easier" will be more convincing than "Our Mobile Phones provide you with the best experience and fastest transmission rates."

The key is to understand your reader’s priorities and present your information in the order they’re likely to care the most about.
